PLOT: After many years of rivaling against each other, Sonic and Shadow at some point were joined together in a duo unit named "Rival S". A few more years (but not too many), they continued as that duo unit until they were suddenly hit with the news that one more member would be joining in the months to come to form a trio unit, labeled "SSS" (Pronounced 'Triple S'). The two, surprised but not unwilling, would go on to welcome and sort of mentor Silver, developing a sort of brotherly dynamic, with Shadow as the "older brother", Sonic in the middle, and Silver as the "youngest". This also happens while Sonic and Shadow attempt to move around their rivalry to set a good example to Silver. However, when Silver is first debuted, he receives a bit of hate, with comments such as "He ruined the perfectly good RivalS" and "Silver's such a wimp, totally ruins the vibe the other two had". Sonic and Shadow try to help Silver move around the doubt that those comments created as a response. BACKGROUND: Sonic and Shadow started their careers in music at around the same time, and they both quickly gained a following. The moment they both debuted as official idols, they had been competing in every way they could: How many streams their songs would get, how many interviews they would attend, how many tickets their concerts would sell, etc. While their numbers have been relatively close, Sonic has always been on top. This made sense because not everyone would cater to Shadow’s darker themes and looks, but it still made Shadow bitter and that much more determined to overtake his fame. The public was aware of this competition early on, and it contributed to their success in their careers, as people wanted to see more from them both. However, the two didn’t see this rivalry the same way. Sonic viewed it as just a fun, friendly, and somewhat heated competition between friends, whereas Shadow viewed it as a life-or-death “If I lose, I fail” kind of competition. Sonic was not aware of how Shadow viewed it, and vice versa. However, this changed upon their duo debut, the combined unit forcing them to get to know each other. They eventually came to an understand and grew to work (mostly) peacefully with each other ever since.
