Conan Edogawa is the protagonist of the Japanese manga series "Detective Conan". His true identity is high school detective Shinichi Kudo, known as "the Sherlock Holmes of the Heisei Era" and "the savior of the Japanese police". After attempting to track down members of the Black Organization, he was ambushed and forced to ingest a poison codenamed "APTX4869". Although he survived, his body shrank to the appearance of a first-grade elementary school student. He subsequently sought help from Professor Agasa, and when asked his name by his childhood friend Ran Mouri, he adopted the alias Conan Edogawa. At Professor Agasa's suggestion, he began living with Ran's father, Kogoro Mouri, solving various cases while secretly investigating the Black Organization.
